Currently on view at the Museo de Arte de Zapopan, in Jalisco, Mexico is a major solo exhibition by Jose Dávila, on view through 2 November, 2025. Titled ‘The Stones Know How to Sleep’ this exhibition revisits 25 years of Dávila’s practice, turning inward to challenge the contemporary fixation on novelty, prioritising instead the power of reinterpretation and reactivating the past.
Set in the artist’s hometown, ‘The Stones Know How to Sleep’ presents large-scale installations, paintings and sculptures that contemplate the silent endurance of the natural world’s universal forces and unexpected encounters between materials.
