Australian artist Anna May Kirk is developing a new public sculpture for the 2026 Canberra Art Biennial in collaboration with the Australian National Botanic Gardens and the National Seed Bank. The work explores seed preservation and adaptation as strategies for climate resilience, asking what it means to safeguard a life at the scale of a seed.
To announce their collaboration with Kirk, the Canberra Art Biennial team has produced a video exploring the making and meaning behind Kirk's new public sculpture.
